図説が未来っぽくてかっこよかったので、香港の古本屋さんで買いました。建築の専門書で、洋書なので全編英語です。

2002 年にフランスのオルレアンの Archilab で開催された 「TR Hamzay & Yeang Sdn. Bhd. 」の展示インスタレーションのカタログとして作成されたものみたいです。

香港の都市は、西九龍ウォーターフロント都市生態系について書かれています。オランダのアムステルダム大学都市エコシステムについても章があります。

The ecocell is a vertical integrating device to bring landscape elements, daylight, rainwater, natural ventilation and sewage recycling vertically across all levels of the builtform. The concept is explained in two masterplan projects by Hamzah & Yeang (registered T. R. Hamzah & Yeang Sdn. Bhd.) the Amsterdam Center of Science & Technology and the West Kowloon Waterfront Development.

[著者プロフィール]
レオン・ヴァン・シャイク博士は、オーストラリア・メルボルンにあるRMIT大学（RMIT University）の建築環境学部長兼建築学教授です。大学のキャピタルワークス・プログラムを通じて、地域の建築文化の振興に尽力しています。2000年ヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレ建築展のオーストラリア代表委員を務め、アジアデザインフォーラムの議長も務めています。近著には、エドモンド+コリガン、ウシダ・フィンドレー、ギルフォード・ベル、トム・CV・コヴァックに関するモノグラフがあります。

Dr Leon van Schaik is Dean of the Faculty of the Constructed Environment and Professor of Architecture at RMIT University Melbourne, Australia where he has promoted the local architectural culture through the university capital works program.He is Commissioner for Australia in the 2000 Venice Architecture Biennale and he is Chair of the Asia Design Forum. Recent books include monographs compiled on Edmond+Corrigan, Ushida Findlay, Guilford Bell and Tom CV Kovac.
